       The Graduate was definitely by far my favorite movie on the list. The movie was not only raunchy but ridiculously humorous as well with quite the twist. The Graduate is the true definition of a great American romantic comedy. It’s qualities like this that make this movie a joy to watch. This movie has it all, funny to downright scandalous as well as romance. You can’t help but be glued to the screen because it is that entertaining and like every great movie the guy always gets the chick at the end.

       The Graduate was nominated for seven Academy Awards and was also the highest-grossing motion picture of 1968. It was also considered to be ranked 7th of the greatest films of the century by the American Film Institute. The soundtrack alone is one of the most recognizable in film history. It was also this movie that help propel the careers of Dustin Hoffman, Buck Henry (screenwriter), and Mike Nichols (director). The Graduate has been renowned for the death of the romantic comedy.{http://www.npr.org/programs/morning/features/patc/graduate/}

       In conclusion, I strongly advise everyone of all ages to watch this movie because it truly is enjoyable and fun to watch. This was my first time watching it and I absolutely loved it. For an old classic it truly does its justice and I guarantee you will laugh. Its movies like this that paved the way for comedies that we watch in today’s day and age. Therefore, if you appreciate the movies you watch today you have to have a sense of appreciation for the movies of yesterday’s age because lets face it if it weren’t for classics like this who knows if the flicks we watch today would be as good. This is definitely a must watch! I give it 5 stars!!
